Hot dog slicer dog11/21/2023 Additionally, because the housing 12 has multiple chambers 18 and the longitudinal handle 28 is provided for operating the longitudinal blade sets 24 of each chamber, multiple hot dogs 20 can be quickly and easily sliced at the same time in one operation, so that large numbers of hot dogs can be prepared for serving large numbers of kids in schools, camps, day care, etc. The longitudinal blade assembly 14 can be operated before the transverse blade assembly 16 or vice versa, or only one of the blade assemblies can be operated if that is all that is desired. In this way, the longitudinal blade assembly 14 and the transverse blade assembly 16 permit a user to slice hot dogs 20 both lengthwise into quarters (longitudinally) and sideways through their width (transversely) to end up with small pieces of hot dog that can be safely eaten by children without choking. 1960 thunderbird convertable11/21/2023 ![]() The concept was for a two-passenger open car, with a target weight of 2,525 lb (1,145 kg), a 252 cu in (4.1 L) Ford Y-block Interceptor V8 based on the forthcoming overhead-valve Ford engine slated for 1954 model year introduction, and a top speed over 100 mph (161 km/h). Hershey took the idea and began working on the vehicle. Walker promptly telephoned Ford's HQ in Dearborn and told designer Frank Hershey about the conversation with Crusoe. although if anything existed at the time beyond casual dream-car sketches by members of the design staff, records of it have never come to light. Walking in the Grand Palais in Paris, Crusoe pointed at a sports car and asked Walker, "Why can't we have something like that?" Some versions of the story claim that Walker replied by telling Crusoe, "Oh, we're working on it". Crusoe and Walker met in France in October 1951. ![]() Hershey's participation in the creation of the Thunderbird was more administrative than artistic. ![]() Boyer was the lead stylist on the original 1955 two-seater Thunderbird and also had input in the following series of Thunderbirds that included the 30th Anniversary Edition. The Thunderbird was similar in concept but was more American in style, more luxurious, and less sport-oriented.Ĭredit for the development of the original Thunderbird is given to Lewis Crusoe, a former GM executive lured out of retirement by Henry Ford II George Walker, chief stylist and a Ford vice president Frank Hershey, chief stylist for the Ford Division Bill Boyer, designer for the Body Development Studio, who became the manager of the Thunderbird Studio in the spring of 1955 and Bill Burnett, chief engineer. The completed one-off generated interest at the time, but had meager power, European looks, and a correspondingly high cost, so it never proceeded to production. Development Ī smaller two-seater sports roadster was developed at the behest of Henry Ford II in 1953 called the Vega. Thunderbird production ended in 1997, then briefly resumed as a two-passenger, marketed from 2002 to 2005.įrom its introduction in 1955 to its final phaseout in 2005, Ford produced over 4.4 million Thunderbirds. Sales were good until the 1990s when large two-door coupes became unpopular. Succeeding generations became larger until the line was downsized in 1977, again in 1980, and once again in 1983. For 1958, the Thunderbird was redesigned with a second row of seats. Ford positioned the Thunderbird as an upscale model and it is credited in developing a new market segment, the personal luxury car. Unlike the Chevrolet Corvette, it was not marketed as a sports car. The Thunderbird entered production for the 1955 model year as a sporty two-seat convertible. Introduced as a two-seat convertible, the Thunderbird was offered variously as a four-seat hardtop coupe, four-seat convertible, five-seat convertible and hardtop, four-door pillared hardtop sedan, six-passenger hardtop coupe, and five-passenger pillared coupe, with the final generation designed again as a two-seat convertible.įord targeted the two-seat Thunderbird as an upscale model, but the 1958 model year design introduced a rear seat and arguably marked the expansion of a market segment eventually known as personal luxury cars, positioned to emphasize comfort and convenience over handling and high-speed performance. The Ford Thunderbird (colloquially called the T-Bird) is a personal luxury car manufactured and marketed by Ford from model years 1955 to 2005 (with a 1997–2002 hiatus), across 11 generations. ![]() Sports car (first and eleventh generations).

Who does coolant flush near me11/20/2023 ![]() Place the drain pan under the drain plug and use the socket wrench to remove the drain plug bolt. Also, check the two hoses connecting the radiator to the engine for leaks, and brittle, and fix them before proceeding. Check the condition of your radiator for rust and corrosion. If you don’t know where the drain plug is, consult your owner’s manual Jack up the front wheels of your car to have good access to the radiator drain plug.Pop up the hood, open the reservoir and radiator cap to let out pressure, after which you close it properly.Allow the engine to cool, as coolant can remain hot for up to hours after driving. ![]() With everything in place, here is how to do a coolant flush: However, luxury comes with a price, so if you’re not ready to pay it, you may need to do it yourself.Īll you need is to get the coolant flush kit and a radiator coolant for your specific vehicle. Opting for coolant flush service gets your cooling system cleaned in no time since these professionals use a coolant flush machine. Meaning your engine will function well, stay clean, and last longer, invariably avoiding costly repairs or engine replacement. So is coolant flush necessary? Yes, coolant flush is necessary as it allows you to drive with not just a clean coolant but a clean cooling system. A dirty radiator coolant can also cause corrosion in the radiator and also allows dirt into the engine. With such a reduction, the coolant may not be able to keep the engine cool which often results in engine overheating and eventually lead to engine breakdown. All of which reduces the fluid efficiency over time. Corrosion, rust, and other scales are also formed in the cooling system. Is coolant flush really necessary?Īs coolant flows through your engine to cool it, it collects heat and other engine particles. Even if it appears, it’s still working, flush it, as it’s only a matter of time before it starts acting abnormally. The coolant, over time, may have accumulated dust and other debris that might reduce its working capacity. You may also need a coolant flush if you have been driving your car for a long. ![]() ![]() Is your engine’s heat indicator or thermometer up and causing the check engine light to turn? An overheating engine may trigger this. One of the most common signs you need a coolant flush is engine overheating.Ĭoolant generally helps keep the engine cool when running, so if it suddenly starts overheating, the fluid might be dirty and unable to work as intended. And an excellent way to know is to check the coolant once in a while A drastic change in the color and consistency of the coolant may also indicate your engine needs a coolant flush. If you regularly drive, especially during summer, you may need a coolant flush sooner than recommended, as coolant works more during this time. However, aside from sticking that, whether your car needs a coolant flush or not will depend on the coolant’s condition, or you may want to look out for other signs like bad coolant color. Does my engine need a coolant flush?Ĭars often have manufacturer-recommended intervals to change or to do a coolant flush. A coolant flush also helps in checking the cooling system for signs or damages that can hinder engine performance. So dirt and sludge are eliminated from every part that stores and transports the coolant throughout the engine. Coolant flush, however, ensures all the old dirty coolant leaves the system before a new one is added. So here, some remnants of the old coolant would eventually contaminate the freshly added coolant. It’s worth noting that coolant flush is different from coolant change.Ĭoolant change focuses on just changing coolant, and not all old dirty coolant leaves the system before a new one is added. The process involves removing all the coolant in the radiator and reservoir and replacing it with a fresh one. But first, what is a coolant flush?Ī coolant flush is the process of getting rid of dirt, sludge, rust, and other contaminants from your vehicle’s cooling system. Technically, one must choose between a coolant flush which protects your engine, and high repair or engine replacement. You might have a coolant reach the fill line, but if it’s not in the right condition, you may as well damage your engine. But low-level coolant isn’t the only reason your vehicle might overheat. Generally, if, for any reason, your car is short of coolant, your engine can overheat and eventually break down. The radiator fluid, commonly known as coolant or antifreeze, helps keep your engine cool when driving.

Indigo rain drops11/20/2023 Indigo attributed the net loss to a reduction in sales and restructuring costs that were partially offset by Indigo receiving its first proceeds from its insurer following a ransomware attack. ![]() It amounted to a loss of 80 cents per diluted share, compared with a loss of 57 cents during the same quarter last year. 30, compared with a net loss of $15.9 million the year prior. The company reported a $22.4-million net loss in the period ended Sept. When asked for specifics about the plan, Indigo spokeswoman Melissa Perri replied with a statement that said the company would have more details in the coming months. “However, I’m confident that we will return Indigo to both growth and profitability.” “We have a journey ahead of us,” Reisman said. ![]() On a Wednesday call to discuss the company’s second quarter, chief executive Heather Reisman mentioned the plan has both short- and long-term initiatives but offered no specifics beyond saying it is meant to “fully re-energize our connection to our customers.” says it’s embarking on a transformation plan. For harvesting dye, even when established, continue to water your indigo at least once a week.TORONTO - Following a number of executive changes and a massive cyberattack that downed its systems, Indigo Books and Music Inc. If you are growing indigo to enjoy a pretty shrub, water regularly in the growing season until it is established and after that only when it hasn’t rained a lot. Yield was also found to be higher when watering stopped one week before harvesting the leaves as compared to ten days or longer. For instance, yields of dye were higher when indigo bushes were watered every one week as compared to irrigating every two weeks. Studies have shown that the frequency of watering can impact how much dye you get from an indigo plant. Watering indigo plants becomes more important if you are making dye. The ideal conditions for the soil are evenly moist, so don’t let it dry out too much. Begin by watering every couple of days in the growing season to get your shrub established. In fact, when you have a well-established plant, it will be pretty tough in the face of drought. If you are not harvesting leaves to make dye, watering needs for indigo are pretty simple. Make sure your plant gets enough water and at the right frequency for it to be healthy but pay particular attention to water if you are going to be harvesting leaves for dye. Indigo plant watering is important to consider, not just for the shrub to grow well and thrive, but also for dye production. You can trim it to shape into a pretty flowering shrub that produces pinkish purple blooms. Indigo is a small or medium shrub, growing to about 5 feet (1.5 m.) tall. It grows best and as a perennial in zones 9 and up in colder areas you can grow it as an annual. ![]() There are false indigo plants, but true indigo is Indigofera tinctoria. Whether you are growing indigo in your garden to make the dye or just to enjoy the pretty pink flowers and shrub growth habit, indigo irrigation requirements are important to understand to help it thrive. ![]() Indigo is one of the oldest cultivated plants, used for centuries and longer to make a beautiful blue dye.

Systemof a down chop suey lyrics11/20/2023 ![]() To me this symbolizes everyone else blaming the person for not taking control of his/her life. Then the verse repeats with "YOU WANTED TO!" on the end of each line. In their life they "grab a brush and put a little makeup" on and "hide the scars and fade away the shakeup" so that everyone else doesn't see how depressed/traumatized the person really is. This is going to be lengthy but bear with me To me this song is about someone who really wants to kill them self, but everyone around that person doesn't understand why. Well this is my interpretation.Ī lot of interpretations are heavily religious tied, mine is slightly different. The whole band have never stated an official meaning to any of their songs so that fans can interpret songs for themselves. Can you imagine if you have been believing the opposite of what you thought you believed in? This is why it is such an issue to those who think about it. Indeed, the fact that this is a possibility is very hard to think about because so many people have been believing the distorted story, if the story was distorted. I am not saying at all that Christianity is fake and stupid, not at all, but I'm saying it's possible people have distorted the story a bit over time. Any questions Christ left unanswered, some people answered themselves by taking the keys and opening the door to Christianity, the religion that worships Christ. Using these keys would be giving access to have people distort the story by interpretation. The keys would belong to anyone who wanted to simply take them off of the table, and the fact that it's plural means there is more than one person that will use these keys. ![]() ![]() I think the keys thing probably has to do with the fact that there were some things Christ left for others to answer before he died, hence the keys. I do not agree with SOAD's beliefs if I am correct in this analysis, but this could be what the song is talking about. I seems very New Age ("Life is a waterfall, we're one in the river and one again after the fall." It seems to be saying everyone was once One and will be One again after these lives on earth or something). And I like JofaGuht's idea about the makeup, but it could be used to cover up the other religions rather than hidden stories from the Bible. It's like they are saying the pieces to the truth are there, but all one needs to do is pick up the keys and unlock the truth. Also, on the Toxicity cd booklet Daron Malakian thanks "God, Buddha, Allah and Lucifer because they are all so lovely." and Serj thank "The Great Spirit for vision." The song seems to be saying that Christ's sacrifice was self righteous rather than a selfless act for the people he loves as the Bible describes. Since they might believe all religions are pieces to one true religion, an explanation of them sounding as if they are Christian to some is because they believe in some Christian values (like murdering is wrong) but do not hold true to every Christian belief. A huge part of cosmic humanism is that everyone is god or holy and in the end of this world everyone will be united into one god. They seem to believe everyone is one and all religions are pieces to their believed one true religion. SOAD does not seem Christian, they seem to be new age (or cosmic humanists). (Here you go) create another fable, you wanted to Hide the scars to fade away the (hide the scars to fade away the) Why'd you leave the keys upon the table? You wanted to Hide the scars to fade away the shake up, you wanted to Grab a brush and put a little makeup, you wanted to Here you go, create another fable, you wanted to Hide the scars to fade away the shake up (hide the scars to fade away the)

Viscosity index oil11/19/2023 ![]() They start "coiled", at lower temperatures, then "fluff" up at higher temperatures. These are typically polymers (think of a white plastic pencil eraser, that's similar) that have a solubility change with temperature. Which, within some limitations that I'll go into in a later post is a good thing.Įarly on, and knowing that high VI was "good", chemists started to find additives that are called "Viscosity Index Improvers". So you can see that your oil crosses multiple lines, and is flatter.at higher temperatures than 100C, it will be less thin than either the 46, OR the 48, and at freezing wouldn't be as thick as an ISO32. Print it out, and using the data for your 0W20, plot them out.Ĥ0C, your oil is 39cst (say it's an ISO 46 at that temperature for discussion).ġ00C, your oil is 8.9cst (which lines up pretty closely to the ISO 68). The grades are ISO grades, which are defined by the viscosity at 40C.it's easier to use at this point, as the 40C and 100C points are used against this 100 VI reference to determine viscosity index. (Didn't insert the image).Īn oil with a HIGH viscosity index will start higher at the left of the chart and finish lower at the right. Here's a typical set of curves for Viscosity/temperature for a typical VII of 98-102 industrial oil. It was known that some of those oils changed their viscosity less with temperature (and these also appeared to be more thermally stable, for much the same reason), and were typically the "Pennsylvania" type crudes.being the best it was given a "viscosity index" of 100. ![]() Going back in time, oils were basically what was dug up out of the ground, and varied wildly between regions depending on the typical molecular make-up of that source. They suffer extreme changes in viscosity with temperature, but they also don't really shear down that much. Straight grades are quite a bit lower than that. I think 230-240 is as high as I've seen for over the counter motor oil or transmission fluid. I would consider a viscosity index of over 200 to be pretty high. From this standpoint, a lower viscosity index may be desirable, especially for longer drain intervals.įew oils are at the "extreme" ends of the scale. ![]() Viscosity index improvers apparently degrade and shear rapidly, and sometimes allow an oil to shear out of grade quicker than an oil with a lower amount of these. From this standpoint, a higher viscosity index may be desirable.īut, there is no free lunch. Oils with a lower viscosity index will thicken more as the oil cools. Oils with a higher viscosity index will thicken less as the oil cools. However this work has demonstrated the feasibility of using groundnut oil as a hydraulic fluid. As I understand it, viscosity index is the ability of an oil to resist changes in viscosity due to temperature. The low temperature flow property (pour point) is the only result that does not meet ISO specification with-3 o C but can be handled by addition of cold flow property depressant (additive). The result showed a good peroxide value and iodine value from oil sample. ![]() The flash point (249.1 o C), the fire point (255.2 o C), acid value (0.3942mg (KOH)/g) all exceed the ISO specification. The result showed that the viscosity at 40 o C and 100 o C are 34.1mm 2 /s and 7.08mm 2 /s which exceeded the international standard organization (ISO) specification of (12-100) mm 2 /s and 5mm 2 /s for 40 o C and 100 o C respectively. The key steps will be to experiment the viscosity of groundnut oil at 40 o C and 100 o C respectively, specific gravity, viscosity index, acid value, Pour point, flash point, fire point, peroxide and iodine value using refined groundnut oil as sample. Benchmark tests and experiment were carried out to ascertain the physio-chemical property of groundnut oil. This study is set out to ascertain the suitability of groundnut oil as a hydraulic fluid. |
